Ollie is a four-year-old mixed breed that has been at the shelter since September.

Canine caregiver and adoption counselor Simone Olivieri told us about Ollie.

"Just very sweet, very, very, very loving lap dog, and also a little adventure buddy. He's very confident and a great, great little buddy," she said.

He was dropped off at the shelter Sept. 30 after he was having a hard time fitting in at his home.

By Brittany Polito, iBerkshires Staff
11:36PM / Tuesday, November 04, 2025

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — There is new leadership in a couple of wards, but the majority returning to the City Council are incumbents.

On Tuesday, Earl Persip III, Peter White, Alisa Costa, and Kathleen Amuso held their seats as councilors at large. Persip was the top vote getter with 3,172 votes, according to unofficial results, followed by White with 3,110 votes.

This was not an election year for mayor, as that post now has a four-year term. That may have led to low turnout, with 5,535 votes cast out of 32,261 registered voters, or 17 percent.

Many of the winning councilors celebrated at Patrick's Pub on election night.

By Breanna Steele, iBerkshires Staff
05:44AM / Tuesday, November 04, 2025
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Eagles Concert Band is bringing a free concert at the Colonial Theatre on Friday, Nov. 7.   This is the band's 18th year performing at the Colonial. New principal conductor David Diggs said he has decided to perform music from composer John Philip Sousa, but not his famous marches.    "One of the ones that I think is very unique to the program is we're going to be playing Sousa, but we're not going to be playing a Sousa march. Sousa wrote a lot of other pieces for his band, but they're generally not played because they're very hard to get rehearsed and put together as a piece. They're not as easy as the marches,"

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Conservation Commission has requested another plan to improve access on the south shoreline of Pontoosuc Lake while stabilizing the bank.

"Moving forward, you're going to have to submit a plan to address the erosion and the issues," Chair James Conant said to Parks, Open Space, and Natural Resources Manager James McGrath, representing the city.
