PITTSFIELD, Mass. — United Cerebral Palsy of Western Massachusetts marked National White Cane Day last week with demonstrations that show how community members with little or no eyesight navigate the world. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Friday, Oct. 17 Aaron Shepperd, 37 of North Adams, pleaded guilty to the following charges: 3 counts of Rape of a Child with Force 1 count of Indecent Assault and Battery of a Child Under 14 1 Count of Indecent Assault and Battery of a Child Over 14 Shepperd was sentenced to 8 to 10 years in State Prison. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, Hearthway, and Upside413 are partnering with Way Finders and their research partner, the UMass Donahue Institute, to share in-depth findings from "Building Homes. Building Futures." This first-ever housing study will cover Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties at an event on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Berkshire Community College's Boland Theater. According to the study, Berkshire County needs nearly 2,000 new housing units to meet current demand. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Monday, Oct. 20 marks the start of phase three for the fall flushing schedule of the City of Pittsfield's water system. This biannual process occurs twice a year typically in the spring and the fall. Mains will be flushed Monday through Friday each week, except holidays, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. This phase of flushing is expected to occur between Oct. 20 to Oct. 24.
