 County Ambulance is seeking to implement a Community Emergency Medical Services program that will provide preventive and non-emergency care. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— The Board of Health supports a Community Emergency Medical Services program in the city. Last Wednesday, board members motioned to support County Ambulance's application for a CEMS program administered by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Health officials hope this will increase the accessibility of non-emergency health care for Pittsfielders. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— Several City Councilors are alleged to have violated the Open Meeting Law by speaking about the controversial camping ban proposal during a community event. Tuesday's City Council meeting includes the review of two OML complaints filed by a former councilor and a podcaster. Karen Kalinowsky and Michael Daly allege that six councilors discussed the proposed "Camping on Public Property" ordinance during a "Homes not Handcuffs" meeting on July 31. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The BRTA Advisory Board is reforming its search for a new administrator after an Open Meeting Law complaint. This includes a re-evaluation of all submitted resumes and amending the Berkshire Regional Transit Authority's governing bylaws. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— Continued West Nile Virus detections in the city's mosquito population could reinstate adulticide spraying. Last week, there were two confirmed isolations in Pittsfield: One on Garland Avenue and another on South Street near the Dan Fox Drive intersection. If there is a consecutive WNV isolation in the same area, the threshold for spraying application is reached. No Drought Conditions in Berkshire County 03:17PM / Saturday, August 09, 2025 | | BOSTON —Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Rebecca Tepper declared there are no drought conditions in Massachusetts except the Cape Cod Region, which has been upgraded to a Level 2. Drought is a look back on conditions over a period of time. July was notably warm in Massachusetts, with average temperatures 2 to 5 degrees above normal. Precipitation levels vary in the state, with some areas getting above-normal rainfall amounts, while areas north of I-90, and the Northeast, Southeast, Cape Cod, and the Islands Regions have seen below-average rainfall.
