PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City's Department of Public Services and Utilities announce a sewer lining replacement project will begin on Monday, Sept. 29. This work will include lining aging sewer pipes to help prevent future breaks within the sewer line. The sewer lining will be replaced in several locations as outlined in the schedule below during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each weekday. There should be minimal to no impact on residential sewer lines during this work. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Health Systems has announced that Berkshire Medical Center (BMC) has been given a 4-star rating for overall quality by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), based on how the hospital has performed across several areas of quality. The overall star rating is based on how well a hospital performs across different areas of quality, such as treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates, and safety of care. DALTON, Mass. — As work continues on the proposed public safety facility; the condition of the current station worsens. LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — The town plans to fill its vacant administrative assistant position with two interim, part-time employees.
On Thursday, the Select Board voted to offer the jobs to Lanesborough resident Stacy Nash and the previous administrative assistant, Beth Carroll. Corrine Bradley is on administrative leave following charges for allegedly embezzling more than $325,000 from a New York business.
"I have been exploring options for interim support for the administrative assistant position," Town Administrator Gina Dario told the board, with two members joining remotely.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City Council supported some recommended changes to the City Charter, but left behind an ordinance that designates the mayor as chair of the School Committee.
On Tuesday, councilors approved ordinances that change the city clerk's term from two to four years, give the operating budget a safeguard from charter objections, and allow more time to debate the budget before the end of the fiscal year.
