 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city will have a "brand new" Walmart store, representatives say. The company has recently been before several Pittsfield boards and commissions in advance of a planned renovation and expansion. Last week, the Zoning Board of Appeals OK'd a sign exemption for new 145-square-foot signage. The ZBA also signed off on directory signage for store departments. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — City councilors are in favor of a theoretical system that flags vehicles that don't stop for school buses. On Monday, the Ordinances and Rules subcommittee supported Ward 1 Councilor Kenneth Warren's request to accept a new statute that gives the option to install a detection system for school bus traffic violations. Warren explained that this doesn't mean it will get implemented, but it accepts state law (MGL Chapter 40, Section 71) so that the city can look into it. Earlier this year, Gov. It was founded in Florence by owner Scott Keiter in the midst of the economic collapse as Keiter Builders, and over the years saw exponential growth, rebranding a decade later as Keiter Corp. with four divisions — residential construction, commercial and industrial, site work, and real estate. It moved to a 6,000-square-foot facility in West Springfield last year. It was established in 1955 as Pittsfield Municipal Federal to offer financial services for city employees, operating out of City Hall until 1997, when it moved across the street to 101 Fenn St. It was chartered as a community credit union in 2003 and changed the name to MyCom. BRPC and members of Beta Group Inc. presented draft recommendations last week from the Lenox-Stockbridge Pedestrian and Bicycle Circulation Study, which would create a multimodal system around West Street, Interlaken Road, Hawthorne Road and Street, and Old Stockbridge Road.
