SaVida Health holds a ribbon cutting on Monday to celebrate its new offices. PITTSFIELD,Mass. — Local medication-assisted treatment provider SaVida Health celebrated its relocation with a ribbon cutting on Monday morning. The opioid addiction treatment center has moved from its previous location on Summer Street to 184 North St., across from the Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center. The larger, centrally located space improves the center's accessibility for its patients due to its close proximity to the bus station and public parking, SaVida implementation manager Zoe Lewis said. Children were excited to see the pizza slice at the Boys and Girls Club. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Boys and Girls Club of the Berkshires was awarded $10,000 in grant funding from the Papa Johns Foundation. The money will go toward the nonprofit's Triple Play dinner program that provides free meals to members from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Lighthouse Cafe. These days a lot of families don't have money and this program helps, the club's Program Director Cameron Stockton said, adding that the only thing the Boys and Girls Club asks is for the kids to be a member, be safe, and enjoy themselves. DALTON, Mass. — Jacob Galliher of Pittsfield was laid to rest on Wednesday following a Mass at St. Agnes' Church filled with friends, family, military representatives and officials. Galliher, 24, a staff sergeant in the Air Force, was killed on Nov. 29 when the CV-22 Osprey he was on crashed off the coast of Japan during a joint military exercise.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Gas has requested an increase in its energy-efficiency budgets in the residential, income-eligible, and commercial industrial sectors that will raise the average residential heating bill by about $4 a month.
On Friday, the state Department of Public Utilities hosted a hearing for the gas company's petition for modifications to its 2022 to 2024 Three-Year Energy Efficiency Plan that provides energy-efficiency programs for customers in these sectors. It was filed in late August and written comments were due on Monday.
No members of the public spoke at the virtual hearing.
The four proposed budget increases amount to $7.6 million.

DALTON, Mass. — Town Hall is down a lift because of safety concerns with the current one in the police station, the Americans with Disabilities Act Committee announced during its meeting on Monday night. The Town Hall has two chairlifts, one in the police station and one in the public library. The Town Planner, Health Agent, Building Inspector offices are inaccessible to those who need a chairlift because the library chairlift does not have access to them.  DALTON, Mass. — The town is a step closer to having two electric vehicle charging stations at the Community Recreation Association. There are two EV ports per station. The committee submitted a signed contract to the state so the town is ready to have work begin this month, Green Committee member Antonio Pagliarulo said a recent meeting. The engineer will visit the CRA to explore how to extract power from the upcoming station location. The station is expected to be completed in six months.
