 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — For 70 years, MyCom Federal Credit Union has been providing services to residents of Berkshire County. It was established in 1955 as Pittsfield Municipal Federal to offer financial services for city employees, operating out of City Hall until 1997, when it moved across the street to 101 Fenn St. It was chartered as a community credit union in 2003 and changed the name to MyCom. "We started in the City Hall basement for strictly City Hall employees. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance Kristen Behnke will leave the school district after more than 20 years.
This was disclosed during Wednesday's School Committee meeting. Interim Superintendent Latifah Phillips, who has been in the position for three months, said Behnke has been "such an asset" to her during that time.
"But I know to the district for over two decades, so it will be a tremendous loss to us, big shoes to fill, but really thankful for the time that we've had with you," Phillips said.

Residents of Hawthorne Street ask questions about the plans. LENOX, Mass. — The Berkshire Regional Planning Commission is studying pedestrian and bicycle access opportunities around popular cultural institutions in town.
BRPC and members of Beta Group Inc. presented draft recommendations last week from the Lenox-Stockbridge Pedestrian and Bicycle Circulation Study, which would create a multimodal system around West Street, Interlaken Road, Hawthorne Road and Street, and Old Stockbridge Road.
This includes sidewalks, stone-dust paths, crosswalks, and a shared-use path across about six miles in total. BRPC has been working with stakeholders and the technical

She will retire at the end of the school year after more than 17 years with the college, 14 as president, and looks back on the students, faculty, and campus as a whole with pride.

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that entries are now being accepted for the twelfth annual statewide Safe Streets Smart Trips high school video contest. This contest encourages students to showcase their understanding of roadway safety across all travel modes to try to decrease pedestrian and bicyclist injuries and fatalities. Jessica Rufo closed Dottie's July 6 to spend more time with her family after owning it for almost 20 years.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Councilors were glad to see a long-time and a new company put forward for a total of $700,000 in economic development funds.
On Monday, the Community and Economic Development subcommittee supported requests of $200,000 and $500,000 for the Pittsfield Economic Funds, also known as the GE funds. A half-million dollars would help Jain Americas Inc. expand Chicopee operations to Pittsfield, and $200,000 would support a design and manufacturing studio for Elegant Stitches.
