Pittsfield Post 68-2 Earns 1-0, Extra-Inning Win on RoadiBerkshires.com Sports, 11:09PM / Wednesday, July 02, 2025 | | LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Aidan Underdown Wednesday doubled in the winning run in the top of the eighth as the Pittsfield Post 68-2 American Legion Baseball team beat Longmeadow, 1-0. Derek Roy started the winning rally with a single to center field. One batter later, Underdown doubled to right field to bring Roy home with the game’s first and only run. Scott Hoffman struck out seven and scattered four hits in a complete-game effort on the mound for Post 68-2. Devin Reynolds doubled in a five-hit attack for Pittsfield. ADAMS, Mass. – The Pittsfield 12-year-old Little League All-Star pitchers started postseason play with a bang on Wednesday night. Shayne Clairmont and Andrew Scalise combined on a no-hitter to lead Pittsfield to a 10-0, five-inning win over Adams-Cheshire in the opening game of the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament. Mateo Herrera and Clairmont went 6-for-6 with a triple and a double between them at the top of the lineup for Pittsfield, which ended the game on Ryder Froio’s RBI groundout with nobody out in the bottom of the fifth.  Stella has been learning to play well with others and walk on a leash. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Stella has spent eight long months preparing for her forever family and is eager to leave the Berkshire Humane Society. iBerkshire's Companion Corner is a weekly series spotlighting an animal in our local shelters that is ready to find a home. Canine caregiver and adoption counselor Simone Olivieri told us about Stella. Stella is a little over a year old, weighs 50 pounds, and is a Labrador mix. She has been at the shelter for eight months. "Stella loves to go for walks. She likes to go for hikes, be outdoors. She's very adventurous. She walks very nicely on the leash too.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Westside Legends, along with The Berkshire Theater Group, NAACP, R.O.P.E., and the Samuel Harrison Society, are organizing a screening of the movie "Glory" on Sunday, July 6 at 3 p.m. The event will be held at the Colonial Theater, located at 111 South St. This event is free and open to the public. The movie is being shown to celebrate two new murals. "Glory of the Berkshires" is on College Way, and "Pride of the Westside" will be at Durant Park. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A new discount retail store will open in Berkshire Crossing in the next few months. Burlington Stores Inc. announced that its location at 555 Hubbard Ave. will open in the fall. A spokesperson reported that the new store, in the former Staples, will create 65-75 jobs in the community. It is said to be a reimagined store with a new layout. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Licensing Board approved several business alterations on Monday, and two neighboring owners were able to step out and clarify the terms of outdoor seating. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Firefighters quickly doused blaze in a single-family home on Wealthy Avenue late Tuesday afternoon. Scanner reports said it was called in as a lightning strike but the cause is still under investigation. The fire occurred during a line of severe thunderstorms rolling over the region. Capt. Robert Stevens said the fire was called in at 4:24 p.m. and that there was heavy smoke coming from the second floor when they arrived on scene. "We did make it a double alarm fire," he said. The first two sessions are a baseball camp for children 7 to 12. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon, July 7-9. From 9 to noon, July 21-23, The Infield will hold a softball camp for children 7 to 12. The cost for each three-day camp is $150. The Infield is holding an all-sports camp for kids 4 to 6 on Aug. 18 and 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. The camp will allow youngsters to explore baseball, soccer, basketball and more.
