PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pairs of shoes were solemnly placed next to a "ghost bike" in front of City Hall on Sunday, the annual World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
Countywide, there have been nine people killed in pedestrian or traffic incidents this year and many seriously injured.

DALTON, Mass. — The fate of Ray Robert Excavation & Trucking's request for a new special permit remains unclear. Last month the Planning Board voted to continue the public hearing to November and originally intended on making a decision during last Wednesday night's meeting, which was heavily attended by neighbors and other community member. However, due to additional revision requests to the permit, the board decided to push deliberations to Dec. 20 so that these changes can be reviewed. The board did vote to close the public hearing. PITTSFIELD, Mass — Berkshire Community College (BCC) has been selected by the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP)'s Mission 18 to participate in a microgravity research experiment headed to the International Space Station (ISS). The BCC experiment, which is currently under development, will be announced closer to launch date. The target date for the selection of the Mission 18 flight experiments is Dec. 15, 2023, while the launch is planned for spring or summer 2024. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Affordable Housing Trust has launched a survey to get a better understanding of community needs.
"The survey is on the (city) website. We have a designated wave web page, we have a QR code for people to fill out and complete the survey," Director of Community Development Justine Dodds said on Wednesday.
"We decided to do a postcard and the web page and the QR code so that we wouldn"t have to try to figure out how to get paper surveys back."

The pop-up shop, located at 64 North St., will be open until Dec. 31. The pop-up shop will replicate the much-loved North County store with an assortment of plants, home decor, and events.
