The police detail fund is a revolving account that is currently paid up to $25,000 but is drained when a large number of details happen. It stays drained until it is replenished by payments from the private entities that hire the details. When the fund is substantially drained, the payment schedule for officers who work details is unpredictable, Police Chief Deanna Strout has said. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Three different avenues are being considered to fund the estimated $30 million restoration of historic Wahconah Park and a feasibility study has gone to the mayor. Veteran Spotlight: Navy Radioman Robert MercurioBy Wayne Soares, Special to iBerkshires 04:46PM / Sunday, November 12, 2023 | | EAST FALMOUTH, Mass. — I had another wonderful opportunity to interview a member of The Greatest Generation. Robert Mercurio served his country in the Navy as a radioman, first class, from 1942 to 1946. He would also serve four years in the Reserves, being discharged in 1950. At 99 years of age, he possesses a fantastic memory of events and a super personality. Growing up in Everett, he played on the high school football team. "Everett always had good football teams ... I was only 126 pounds and played with some pretty big guys," he said with a chuckle. Mercurio would do his basic training at Great Lakes, 0 Comments Read More >> |

"That guy came basically supporting Israel, and saying that Israelis have a right to defend themselves, and basically supporting the American policy position. By the end of that conversation. He was saying, war is not the answer," one of the organizers, Tamir Novotny, said. Novotny told the man that a stop to the war starts with the United States government calling for a ceasefire. "He was more aligned with us than he realized when he first came," Novotny 0 Comments Read More >> |
