Pittsfield Figure Skating Club Holds Registration Night10:19AM / Monday, September 25, 2023 | | PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield Figure Skating Club will hold its first registration night on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Boys and Girls Club from 5 to 7 p.m. Current figure skaters and interested new members are encouraged to attend. Founded in 1977, the PFSC provides skaters of all ages and abilities the opportunity to develop their figure skating skills in a safe and healthy environment. George Hoose's Indian head paintings are thought to be modeled on in-law Samuel Caesar, who claimed to be of native descent and wore a headdress. DALTON, Mass. — A painting by George Hoose was donated to the Fitch-Hoose House museum last week. George Hoose died in 1977 at age 80. He was a prolific painter and was known for the "Indian Head" painting on Gulf Road that has long since been painted over and weathered away. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A commemorative plaque will officially designate the Clapp Park ballfield for former coach George "Buddy" Pellerin. The name change was approved about seven years ago after Pellerin passed away at the age of 77. The plaque's set be unveiled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.
