By Brittany Polito, iBerkshires Staff

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Animal Control Commission voted to euthanize two Dartmouth Street dogs after a man's encounter with them required surgery.

Not much is known about the dogs, as the owner did not attend the meeting, and to the commission's knowledge they do not have a record. The decision was based on the severity of the allegations.

Joseph Czop of Brighton Avenue alleged that the dogs attacked him and his coonhound Lucy after getting away from their owner and cost him thousands of dollars in medical bills. He came

Most readers are aware of the many negative developments that have plagued the

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — With river flooding and the presence of West Nile virus in mosquitos, the Board of Health is asking that the city resumes adulticide spraying.

Berkshire County Mosquito Control Superintendent Chris Horton feels that it is urgent to resume spraying to prevent human infection and that there was a "disconnect" between the health officials and the city.

Two years ago, the City Council voted to opt out against the BOH’s recommendation.

"I think it’s very important to break that disconnect and talk with our City Council members and address any concerns," Director of Public Health Andy Cambi said.
