DALTON, Mass. — Some 200 people gathered at the Stationery Factory on Thursday for 1Berkshire's annual meeting, celebrating another year of economic development work and promotion of the county.  DALTON, Mass. — The town is a step closer to having two electric vehicle charging stations at the Community Recreation Association. There are two EV ports per station. The committee submitted a signed contract to the state so the town is ready to have work begin this month, Green Committee member Antonio Pagliarulo said a recent meeting. The engineer will visit the CRA to explore how to extract power from the upcoming station location. The station is expected to be completed in six months. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The inaugural Alumni Music Fest at Berkshire Community College (BCC), held in late November drew more than 250 attendees and raised $3,000 for the Eleanore Velez Scholarship. The scholarship supports students who are ineligible for federal aid due to their citizenship status. Such students include those who are undocumented, immigrants, refugees, or hold J-1 visas for exchange visitors. Map of the three parcels from Joe Durwin's report. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The so-called Saw Mill property has a new name that honors its origins as a family farm.
On Thursday, the Conservation Commission voted to rename the more than 50-acre parcel "Cadwell's Woods Conservation Area." The property dates back to the Cadwell family years before Pittsfield was founded and remained with them for 175 years.
In the early 1900s, it was referred to as the "Cadwell's Woods."
Last year, the city acquired the conservation land along the southwest branch of the Housatonic River to permanently protect it from development. It can be used for

CHESHIRE, Mass. — A Pittsfield teenager is facing multiple charges including driving under the influence after crashing her car into the State Police barracks. According to State Police, the 17-year-old was traveling southbound on Route 8 at about 6:22 p.m. on Saturday when her 2000 Nissan Altima left the road and struck the east front corner of Cheshire barracks.
