 PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The ninth annual MountainOne Thankful 5K will be held on Thursday, Nov. 28, at 9 a.m. at Berkshire Community College. The event will have runners and walkers completing a 5-kilometer course that will travel along West Street, thru the Berkshire Community College property out along West Street to Meadowridge and along the Woodland Drive cul-de-sac before returning to West Street and finishing in the Patterson Fieldhouse Parking Lot. Residents are asked to use caution and reduced speeds when traveling along these roads between the hours of 8 and 10 a.m. on Thursday. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The incoming owners of Nissan of Pittsfield want to turn the dealership around after it allegedly left multiple customers "in the hole."
On Monday, the Licensing Board heard from police, customers, and the prospective new owners during a show-cause hearing for its auto dealer license. Located at 25 West Housatonic St., the dealership was investigated for failing to pay off the loans on trade-ins.

DALTON, Mass. — The Select Board has called a special election to fill its vacant seat left by former member Joseph Diver after delaying the decision on a citizen's petition. Diver announced that he would be stepping down from his seat effective Oct. 1 during a meeting at the beginning of September. The board has been discussing whether to hold a special election since October but was hesitant because of cost, proximity to the presidential election, and confusion regarding state law procedures. Free parking this season will include "Free Parking Fridays" on Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and 13. There will also be free parking starting Monday, Dec. 16 through Friday, Dec. 27. The meal kit distribution effort has surpassed last year's numbers, serving more than 2,200 local families in need. Around 500 volunteers have helped with the entire process and on Monday, around 100 volunteers packed into the South Congregational Church for drive-through distribution.
Generosity is the engine that has powered Thanksgiving Angels for around 15 years.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Environmentalists feel community cooperation may help move the needle on the county's last peaker plant transitioning to clean energy.
During Wednesday's Berkshire Green Drinks event hosted by the Berkshire Environmental Action Team, Rosemary Wessel discussed possible green outcomes for Pittsfield Generating Co. on Merrill Road.

BCC President Ellen Kennedy says she was excited to overhear two graduates who 'raved' about the program at a dentist's office. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Community College's Medical Coding and Health Information Management Program has seen around 150 graduates since its inception in 2014.
