 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On Thursday, Oct. 3, the Berkshire District Attorney's Office will host a workshop focused on senior citizen fraud. The event includes the US Department of Justice; the United States Postal Inspection Service; the Department of the Treasury; the Federal Bureau of Investigations; and the US Attorney's Office. There is one session in North County from 10-11:30 at All Saints Episcopal Church at 59 Summer Street, North Adams, and a second presentation in Central/South County from 2-3:30 at the Lenox Town Hall, 6 Walker Street, Lenox.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A 2018 Pittsfield High School graduate is dedicating her next couple of years to service in the Peace Corps. Earlier this month, 24-year-old Kennedy Merriam departed to Colombia where she will serve as a co-English teacher for two years. She found her voice while studying Spanish in Pittsfield Public Schools and has made a career of it. DALTON, Mass. — There will be a special town meeting at Nessacus Regional Middle School on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. to vote on four articles. The first article requests the voters approve decreasing the fiscal year debt exclusion line item by $48,668. Article 2 asks to transfer a sum from capital stabilization to cover the cost of the final engineering and construction of the heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system for the Town Hall's main floor and the police station in its basement.
