PHS Proteus Theatre Hosts Annual Talent Showcase

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield High School's Proteus Theatre will hold its Annual Talent Showcase on May 31 at 7:30 p.m.    Directed by students Stephanie Martin, Aaliyah Johnson, and Kayla Hunter, the event will feature performances by PHS students.    The showcase will take place in the PHS Theatre, with tickets priced at $5, available for purchase at the door (cash or check) or online.    Attendees are advised to enter through the Appleton entrance, while those requiring handicap access should use the back doors and email kblocker@pittsfield.net for assistance.

Rotary Club Announces Service Above Self Awardees

BCC Faculty Member Wins Fulbright Scholarship

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City Council left no stone unturned as it took four hours to preliminarily approve the school budget on Monday. At $82,885,277, the fiscal year 2025 spending plan is a $4,797,262 — or 6.14 percent — increase from this year.

Pittsfield Superintendant Warns of Prohibited Toy Guns

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The district has been alerted of a concerning trend that is prohibited on school grounds: Orby or Orbeez gel guns.

The toy guns shoot gel or water beads and are said to pose a risk of physical harm and being mistaken for a real firearm. They are a violation of the Pittsfield Public School's code of conduct and could result in a suspension of 11 days or more.
