BCC Respiratory Care Program Gains Popularity

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Respiratory Care program at Berkshire Community College (BCC), which offers an associate in science degree to students who complete the program, has seen growth over the past few years.   So much so that, with more than 70 applications received, the enrollment cap has now been increased to meet demand.    BCC Dean of Nursing, Health & Wellness Lori Moon said the Berkshire Health Systems (BHS) Pipeline has been a contributor to the increase in interest for the program. Former Pittsfield Mayor Honored With Housing Public Service Award

Kids 4 Harmony Returns to Ozawa Hall

Curtis Says $200K Cut Won't Mean Staff Reductions

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Superintendent Joseph Curtis insists that the district's $200,000 budget cut will not reduce additional positions.    "We all feel strongly, and I'm sure that the [School Committee] does as well, that we will not reduce any additional staff members as a result of that $200,000 reduction," he said on Wednesday.    The day before, a $216 million city budget was passed that included a last-minute reduction to the schools.
