Central Berkshire's FY25 Draft Budget Up $1M

DALTON, Mass. — The Central Berkshire Regional School District is anticipating a 3.35 percent increase to its operating budget for fiscal 2025, which translates to nearly a little more than $1 million over this year.   This year's budget is $30,301,466, and next year is forecast at $31,315,659, a difference of $1,014,193.   Prior to presenting the draft at the Jan. 11 meeting, Superintendent Leslie Blake-Davis emphasized that these initial projections may change because there are still a lot of unknowns surrounding it, including health insurance and the governor's budget.   "This budget for us is really an ever-evolving process. Miss Hall's School Completes 'Historic' Fundraising Campaign

BCC Holds Pinning Ceremony for Nursing Graduates

New Pittsfield School Committee Meets for First Time

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The new School Committee met for the first time on Wednesday, organizing its leadership and approving a budget calendar for fiscal 2025.

William Cameron was re-elected chair, Daniel Elias as vice chair, and newcomer William Garrity as clerk.  A 2022 Taconic High graduate and a former student representative, Garrity brings a fresh perspective to the committee.

"I just want to thank the voters of Pittsfield for electing me to the School Committee," he said. "It's great to technically be back. I'm excited for this term."

Pittsfield Public Schools Community Engagement Sessions

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Public Schools will host community engagement sessions to discuss enrollment projections, new grade span configurations, and a possible new building project.   The meetings will be held on Thursday Jan. 18 at 6 pm at Williams Elementary School and Thursday Jan 25 at 5:30 pm at Conte Community School.   The goal of the meetings is to continue building understanding of the study and engage the public on the findings with conversation on enrollment projections, potential new grade span configurations, a possible statement of interest for a new school building on the Westside.   A light dinner would be provided.
