Carol Lynn Wechter, 54, of 81 Caroline St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 22, 1947, daughter of Caroline Ryczek Hermanski of Pittsfield and the late Majek Hermanski, she was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Wechter was employed by the U.S. Department of Defense for 25 years and, at the time of her death, was working in Windsor Locks, Conn., as an industrial specialist.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She had received many awards working for the space and sea programs.
Besides her mother, she leaves her husband, Roger F. Wechter, whom she married Feb. 8, 1969; two daughters, Tracey L. Wechter and Lorrie A. Wechter, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Tricia Kirchner of Pittsfield; three brothers, William R. Hermanski of Saugerties, N.Y., James J. Hermanski of Pittsfield and Michael E. Hermanski of New York. She was predeceased by a son, Kevin M. Wechter, who died in 1972.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Holy Family Church in Pittsfield celebrated by the Rev. Eugeniusz Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield MA 01201.
