PITTSFIELD, Mass. — John I. Donovan, 73, of 107 Parker St. died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox.
Born in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, on May 17, 1941, a son of James and Sarah Coady Donovan, he came to the United States and settled in the Boston area in 1958.
He was a veteran of the Navy.
Mr. Donovan was employed in the human services industry as a client advocate.
A very loving, caring man, he was loved by everyone who knew him.
He leaves two daughters, Tanya Donovan and Rachael Dean, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Barbara Donovan; two brothers, Daniel Donovan and Brian Donovan, and two grandchildren, Ethan and Shannon Dean of Pittsfield.
He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Anne McNiel, Diane Steel and James Donovan.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At Mr. Donovan's request, there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
