PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Alfred Silva Fidalgo, 90, of 406 Barker Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015.
Born in Ludlow on June 21, 1925, to Joaquim and Diolinda Rosa Fidalgo, he was raised and spent his early years in Ludlow before moving to Pittsfield.
A Navy veteran, he served his country honorably during World War II.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, the former Anna "Nena" Monteleone; two sons, David Fidalgo and his wife, Sandra, of East Longmeadow and Thomas Fidalgo and wife, Doreen, of Ludlow; three grandchildren, Nathan, Alicia and Garrett, and his sister-in-law, Catherine Monteleone Frieri of Pittsfield.
He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Irene Jorge, and his brothers Anthony, Francesco, and Louis Fidalgo.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services and burial with military honors for Mr. Fidalgo will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield for family and close friends.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BayState Childrens Hospital C/O BayState health Foundation, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield MA 01199. Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
