PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Alma Stefanik, 94, of 120 Onota St., formerly of Adams, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at her home.
Born in Adams on September 9, 1921, daughter of the late Karol and Karolina Bieniek Stefanik, she attended Adams schools and was a graduate of the former Adams High School with the class of 1945. She was also a graduate of the Becker Junior College in Worcester, Mass., where she became a Medical Technician.
Alma was first employed for the David C. Clark Co. in Worcester for several years and then became an office manager for the Orthopaedic Association also in Worcester, returning to Pittsfield after her retirement.
While in Adams she was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams. Alma enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved to read, also her favorite programs were Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
She is survived by three nieces, Virginia Pasternak, who was also her caregiver, Mildred Ferlet and Patricia Pozza, all of Adams; three nephews, Edmond Pasternak, Edward Pasternak and his wife Sandra, all of Adams, and Kevin Marzotto and his wife Jane of North Eastern, Mass; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Helen C. Pasternak, Veronica Tanguay and Ann Marzotto.
Funeral notice: A graveside service and burial for Alma will take place Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams with the Rev. Steven G. Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II in Adams, officiating.
