PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Robert F. Brodeur Sr., 74, of 379 East St. passed away on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.



Born on March 5, 1942 in Pittsfield, he was the son of the late Arthur and Laura LaDouceur Brodeur. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, he was educated in Pittsfield schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a truck driver with the City of Pittsfield from 1973 to 1980.



He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed playing cards. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.



He leaves two daughters, Angela J. Girard and her husband Edward of Summerville, S.C., and Kellie Holsborg of Pittsfield; three sons, Billy Madewell III and his wife Karen of Glendale, Ariz., Robert F. Brodeur Jr. and his wife Jeana of Lanesborough and Mark A. Brodeur of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.



He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.



Funeral notice: A Celebration of Life for Robert F. Brodeur Sr. of Pittsfield, who passed away Aug. 20, 2016, will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church.
