F. Robert "Bob" Earle, 84, of 10 Hampshire St. died Monday at home after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on March 17, 1917, son of Frank and Celia Serra Earle, he was a 1935 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific theater, including the Guadalcanal Islands campaign.
He was first employed by General Electric Co. and later with Virgilio Construction for many years. He was most recently employed by The Country Club of Pittsfield, retiring in 1986.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as golf.
He leaves a sister, Ethel E. Connors of Pittsfield, with whom he lived.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph's Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Church. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, American Cancer Society, or the Kidney Foundation, in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
