Edward Dougherty, 46, of Hickory, N.C., formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
Born in Paterson, N.J., on Oct. 31, 1955, son of Hugh B. and Helen McLeod Dougherty, he resided in Pittsfield for 17 years and graduated from Pittsfield High School. He also graduated from the former North Adams State College.
Mr. Dougherty was employed as a painter of model railway cars and railway engines.
He leaves a brother, David Daugherty of Hickory, and two sisters, Danielle Nuller of Oakland, N.J., and Marie Surdyka of Jackson, N.J.
