Evelyn Marguerite Condi, 88, of 40 Backman Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 21, 1913, daughter of August and Elizabeth Higgins Hoffman, she graduated from St. Joseph Central High School.
Primarily a homemaker, she was employed as a clerk at the former Zayre department store, retiring in 1979 after 15 years of service. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Pittsfield Novelty Shop.
Mrs. Condi was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Joseph A. Condi Sr., whom she married May 16, 1936, died Aug. 10, 1997.
She leaves a daughter, Betty A. Raymaakers of Pittsfield; a son, Joseph A. Condi Jr. of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Condi will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield 01201
