Evelyn Margaret Gaudette, 83, of 41 Patricia Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Easthampton on April 13, 1918, daughter of Neopolitan and Minnie LeClair Provost, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Gaudette was employed for 10 years as a clerk at the former England's department store, where she also taught knitting for many years. She retired in 1962.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and was past president of its St. Ann's Society. She enjoyed knitting and cooking.
Her husband, Lucien A. Gaudette, whom she married April 29, 1935, died April 6, 1990.
She leaves a son, Joseph A. Gaudette of South Daytona, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn M. Gaudette of Dalton and Kathy M. Castle of Pittsfield; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, celebrated by the Rev. Earl A. Hebert, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gaudette may be made to Notre Dame Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield 01201.
