Marie "Connie" Dean, 80, of 14 Brombach St. died yesterday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on April 8, 1921, daughter of Joseph and Dolores Lamudge Powers, she was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Before her marriage, she was employed by GE in the capacitor department.
Mrs. Dean was a communicant of St. Charles' Church.
She and her husband, Robert Dean, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Dec. 31. They were married in St. Mary's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Robert J. Dean Jr. of Pittsfield; three daughters, Barbara A. Norton, Julia A. Leclair and Christeen M. Ciepiela, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Joseph Powers of Pittsfield and Richard Powers of Hinsdale; a sister, Helen French of Warwick, R.I.; six grandchildren and a great-grandson. Mrs. Dean was predeceased by a sister, Mary Mason, and a brother, Edward Powers.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 28, at 10:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 in St. Charles' Church, by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Jan. 27, from 2 to 5. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield.
