PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Charles Edward "Charlie" Russell, son of the late Richard Russell and the late Mary Cassidy Russell, and a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, MA, passed away on August 8th at the age of 76.
Charlie was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended BCC. For over 40 years, he owned and operated Russell's Lawn Service, where he not only built a successful business but also formed lasting friendships with many loyal customers.
Music was at the heart of Charlie's life. His extensive collection sparked countless conversations over the years, and he didn't just listen to music-he lived it. In his younger days, he attended many concerts, and in later years he was a dedicated supporter of local musicians.
Another of Charlie's passions was raising Siberian huskies. He was preceded in passing by his beloved King and Loki, and leaves behind his faithful companion, Kodiak ("Kodi"), who was always by his side.
Friends will fondly remember Charlie's Saturday visits to Teo's, where he was always ready to share a laugh and a story over a beer or two. Charlie leaves behind his best friend, Dan Santolin, along with Dan's wife, Barbara, and their sons, John and Jim, who shared a close bond with him.
Graveside services will be held at Pittsfield Cemetery on Thursday November 20, 2025 at 10:30 am. Flynn & Dagnoli - BENCIVENGA Funeral Homes - 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 is entrusted with arrangements. To add to the book of memories please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com
