Isabel Egan

Isabel Egan, 91, formerly of 176 Columbus Ave., Berkshiretown Apartments, died Sunday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided since Oct. 2, 1998.
Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on June 29, 1909, daughter of Henry and Rose Aubin Choiniere, she attended Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Egan was employed by New England Telephone Co. as a telephone operator for three years prior to her marriage to Roland E. Egan on July 4, 1929.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and enjoyed painting and knitting.
Her husband died July 15, 1974.
She leaves a daughter, Elinor R. Cross of Pittsfield; two sisters, Emelie Porter and Dorothy Grandbois, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert Choiniere of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Phyllis Creer, died Jan. 26, 1997.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Egan's brother, Alphonse T. Choiniere, died June 15, 1994.
