Loretta M. Rahilly-Roy, 55

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Loretta M. Rahilly-Roy, 55, of 15 Chickering St. died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Hanover, N.H., on June 20, 1948, daughter of Stephen J. Rahilly and Glenna A. Hoisington Rahilly Nolan, she attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She was also the stepdaughter of William Pensivy.

Mrs. Rahilly-Roy was a foster parent through the Department of Social Services for more than 17 years. She previously worked for Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., and for the Pittsfield Police Department as a police matron.

She was a member of the Alley Cats Bowling League at Candle Lanes and a former member of the Eagle's women's softball team, a league formed in the 1980s for mothers and wives.

She enjoyed playing bingo and pitch and collecting angels, and was a Yankee fan. She was dedicated to her family and to being a foster parent.

Besides her stepfather, of Pittsfield, she leaves two sons, Daniel S. Roy of Pittsfield and Raymond A. Roy of the state of Ohio; three daughters, Tracy-Lynn Litchfield and Kelly-Ann Litchfield, both of Williamstown, and Francesca Litchfield of Pittsfield; four sisters, including her identical twin, Lucille Ginthwain of Pittsfield, Christine Beebe of Hinsdale, Marlene Ethier of Pittsfield and Wendy Alicia of the state of Maine; four brothers, Gerry Dunnells, Randy Dunnells and Terry Dunnells, all of the state of Maine, and Barry Dunnells of Cheshire, and two grandchildren, Rachel and Regan Roy.

Another son, Jason M. Litchfield, died July 24, 2002. She was also predeceased by a brother, Gary Dunnells.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Rahilly-Roy will be Thursday at 1 at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Calling hours will be Thursday from noon until the time of the service.
