Edward C. Perkett

Edward Charles Perkett, 61, of 833 Old Kings Road South in Jacksonville, Fla., a native of Pittsfield, died May 7 of a heart attack in Jacksonville.
Born April 8, 1940, son of Joseph F. and Florence E. Wrisley Perkett, he was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Pasadena City College and Norwich University. He resided in Stockbridge, Vt., for more than 20 years before retiring to Jacksonville on Jan. 27.
Mr. Perkett drove a school bus for many years and owned and operated Ed's Upholstery for 10 years in Pittsfield, Vt., and Stockbridge, Vt.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating and working on projects.
He leaves his wife, the former Diana J. Poillon; two sons, Brandon J. Perkett of Alexandria, Va., and Jeffrey L. Perkett of Tujunga, Calif.; three daughters, Allison C. Perkett and Melissa J. Fleming, both of Jeffersonville, Vt., and Terri J. Hageny of Seal Beach, Calif.; a brother, Frederick R. Perkett of Pittsfield, and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be tomorrow, May 16, at 11 in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Friends and relatives will gather at 10:30 prior to the service.
