Santina M. Walto, 76, of 454 Hubbard Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 4, 1924, daughter of Dominick and Carmella Martini Palano, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942.
She was employed by the A.H. Rice Silk Mill for a short time, then by GE during World War II. She was a homemaker most of her life.
Mrs. Walto was a member of Christian Assembly Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and doing crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Oralio Walto, whom she married Sept. 9, 1950, died Oct. 7, 1993.
She leaves two sons, Mark A. Walto and William O. Walto, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Josephine A. Gogan of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 19, at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., with the Rev. Dean Nowotny, pastor of Christian Assembly Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at funeral home will be Saturday, May 19, from 8:30 to 9, before the service. Omission of flowers is requested by the family.
