Emily P. Zink, 63, of Beaufort, S.C., mother of Carolann Bigwood of Pittsfield, died yesterday at home.
Born in Schley County, Ga., on July 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Elisha H. and Ida C. Dunmon Jones. Mrs. Zink was a taxi cab driver for Olin's Red & White and a member of Community Bible Church, both in Beaufort. Her husband, Charles H. Zink, died Aug. 19, 1993.
Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Timothy E. Thorsen of Attica, N.Y.; a stepson, Raymond C. Zink of the state of Florida; another daughter, Ruby Vanessa Tate of Beaufort; a brother, Wiley E. Jones of Oglethorpe, Ga.; two sisters, Ruby Mae Gerritsen of Montezuma, Ga., and Louise Brant of Beaufort, and five grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 6, from 6 to 8 at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME in Beaufort, S.C. The funeral will be Thursday, June 7, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home, with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th St., Port Royal, SC 29935. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
