Joseph Borelli, 82, of 65 Columbus Ave., formerly of 717 Tyler St., died Tuesday at home.

Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 20, 1918, son of Antonio and Cora Minicello Borelli, he attended local schools.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Borelli was employed as a tool courier in the test department for General Electric Co., retiring in 1980 after 43 years with the company.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a daily visitor at the Berkshire Athenaeum. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs and a thoroughbred racehorse enthusiast. A sports fan, he enjoyed watching football on TV with his family and friends.

He leaves a brother, Alex Borelli of Pittsfield, and a sister, Madeline Burlingham of Pittsfield.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, today, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Athenaeum in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is handling the services. Friends may gather inside the gate at St. Joseph's Cemetery beginning at 10:45 this morning.
