Aline Hulda DiNicola

Aline Hulda DiNicola, 79, of 92 Cole Ave., a patient at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility since June 19, died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 27, 1926, daughter of James P. and Blanche LaPrise McHugh, she attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.

Mrs. DiNicola had been employed by Pittsfield Public Schools as a baker's helper at Pittsfield High School, where she worked for six years, retiring in 1978. Previously, she had been employed by General Electric Co. as a laboratory technician. At one time, she had been employed by the former Fannie Farmer candy store on North Street.

She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. She enjoyed knitting.

She and her husband, Angelo J. DiNicola, were married Aug. 24, 1946. He died Aug. 18, 1992.

She leaves a daughter, Jayne A. Webber of Pinellas Park, Fla.; two sons, Joseph P. DiNicola and Jerome D. DiNicola, both of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren. A son, James T. DiNicola, died Oct. 12, 1969, and another son, John M. DiNicola, died May 13, 1996.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Aline Hulda DiNicola, who died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B . Brunton.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. DiNicola may be made to St. Charles' Church in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Mrs. DiNicola also leaves a daughter-in-law, Kathy L. DiNicola, and four grandchildren, Jessica and James Webber and Allina and Jared DiNicola. She enjoyed reminiscing about downtown Pittsfield as it was in the 1940s and 1960s, and spending time with her grandchildren.
