Stanley Francis Patryn

Stanley Francis Patryn, 87, of 21 Branch St. died yesterday at home.
Born in Adams on June 27, 1919, son of Leon and Sophia Irzyk Patryn, he attended schools in Adams and North Adams, and was a graduate of the Massachusetts Trade School in Boston.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from July 16, 1940, to July 16, 1946. He was discharged with the rank of aviation metalsmith, first class.
Mr. Patryn was employed by General Electric Co. in air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance for 32 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, he was employed by Berkshire Fine Spinning in North Adams.
He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church.
He was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs, the General Electric Athletic Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 448. He was a fisherman, and enjoyed golfing and bowling, and took pride in remodeling his home.
He and his wife, the former Mary Anne Arasimowicz, were married Jan. 22, 1944, in Holy Family Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Kathryn M. Miklowitz of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Dorothy A. Mears of Bryan, Texas; a sister, Jeanett Wade of Brandon, Fla.; a brother, Alec Patryn of Dalton, and four grandchildren. A son, Stanley J. Patryn, died Dec. 22, 2005.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Stanley Francis Patryn, who died Thursday, June 29, 2006, will be held Monday, July 3, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Patryn also leaves a daughter-in-law, Penny Patryn; two sons-in-law, David Miklowitz and David Mears; four grandchildren, Matthew Patryn, Brent Miklowitz, Jordan Miklowitz and Brenna Patryn; a sister-in-law, Gloria Patryn, and several nieces and nephews.
