Imelda E. Barnes

Imelda E. Barnes, 91, of BerkshireTown Apartments, formerly of Westminster Street, died Tuesday morning at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had been a patient since March 17.
Born in St. Cyprien, Québec, Canada, on June 6, 1915, daughter of Arthur and Celina Dube Bourgoin, she was a descendent of the first permanent settlers of the Province of Québec, and was educated in Canadian schools.
Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker.
She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She enjoyed television, reading and doing puzzles.
Her husband, Albert F. Barnes, whom she married Oct. 10, 1936, died Nov. 6, 1976.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by two sons, Ronald R. Barnes of Belchertown and Raymond F. Barnes of Pittsfield; three sisters, Rita Rancourt, Marie Rosignol and Bibiane Bonneau, all of Lewiston, Maine; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral Services for Imelda E. Barnes, who died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, will be held Friday, July l4 at 9:30 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Barnes may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Charles' Church in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mrs. Barnes leaves her seven grandchildren, Ron Barnes, Jr., Tina Wileman, Stacy Davis, Randy Barnes, Colette Barnes, Trevor Barnes and Ralph Tovet, and four great-grandchildren, Kasey, Kori, Kerik and Payje. She was predeceased by her three brothers and a sister.
