Lorraine Rose Anderson

Lorraine Rose Anderson, 68, of Lynn, formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday at the Jewish Rehab Center in Swampscott after a battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield, daughter of Hilda Palardy Mangano and the late Dominic Mangano, she was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and a 1960 graduate of the former Salem Teachers School, now Salem State College.
Mrs. Anderson worked in the medical records department at Union Hospital in Lynn, retiring in 2002 with more than 20 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott and a former Confraternity of Christian Doctrine teacher at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Lynnfield. In her younger years, she was a jazz singer.
She enjoyed playing the piano, attending concerts, reading, gardening, making ceramics, needlework and knitting.
For many years she vacationed on Long Lake in Naples, Maine.
She and her husband, Arnold "Andy" Anderson, were married 45 years.
Besides her husband, and mother, of Pittsfield, she leaves two daughters, Suzanne Maxwell of Peabody and Diane Anderson of Swampscott; three brothers, Michael Mangano and John Mangano, both of Dalton, and Paul Mangano of Harbine, China; three sisters, Rosalie Polcaro of Pittsfield, Valerie Ebling of California and Carole Anderson of Lanesborough, and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lorraine Rose (Mangano) Anderson, who died July 12, 2006, will be Monday at 9 from SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, with a funeral Mass at 10 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott.
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited; visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8. Donations may be made to North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
Mrs. Anderson also leaves two sons-in-law, Thomas Maxwell of Peabody and Mark Angelopoulos of Swampscott; a granddaughter, Stephanie Maxwell, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com.
