Ann H. Ryan, 92, of Berkshiretown Apartments died Saturday at Providence Health Care Facility in Lenox, where she had resided for a year.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 26, 1913, daughter of Louis and Mary Sanford Hoffman, she was a 1932 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Ryan was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, a longtime member of the former Father Matthew's Temperance Association and a supporter of the Catholic Youth Center. She volunteered at the former St. Luke's Hospital and was a past president of the Women's Club.
Her husband, Joseph W. Ryan Sr., whom she married Aug. 21, 1939, in St. Joseph's Church, died in 1972.
She leaves a son, Joseph W. Ryan Jr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Mary R. Hanson of Richmond; two sisters, Mary V. Hoffman and Claire H. Volin, both of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ann H.Ryan, who died Saturday, July 15, 2006, will be Tuesday, July 18, at 8 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Gary M. Dailey.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on July 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She leaves her son, Joseph W. Ryan Jr. and his wife, Joyce; their children, Joseph W. Ryan III and Kerry P. Ryan; her daughter, Mary R. Hanson and her husband, John R. Hanson, and their two children Joseph Ryan Hanson and John M. Hanson, and her two sisters, Mary V. Hoffman and Claire H. Volin.
