Mariette T. Cyr

Mariette T. Cyr, 84, of Epoch Assisted Living at Melbourne died yesterday at home.
Born in St. Come, Québec, Canada, on Dec. 14, 1921, daughter of Edmond J. and Imelda LaChance Aubin, she moved to Maine as a child.
She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in VanBuren, Maine, and from St. Mary's General Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston, Maine, in 1943.
A registered nurse for 30 years, Mrs. Cyr was employed by the former Hillcrest and Pittsfield General hospitals. She also was a private-duty nurse. She retired in 1973.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of the former Franco-American Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing the piano and organ. She also wrote for the former Sunday Sampler.
Her husband, Philip Cyr, whom she married May 2, 1946, at Notre Dame Church, died Aug. 31, 1988.
She leaves a son, Michael P. Cyr of Dalton; four daughters, Jeanne C. Trinque of West Springfield, Therese M. Michaud of Windsor, and Beatrice L. Cowlin and Christine A. Lichtel, both of Pittsfield; a stepbrother, Gerald Daigle of Chicopee; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral arrangements for Mariette T. Cyr, who died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, will be at a date to be announced. DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Her greatest love was her home, her children and her grandchildren.
She leaves 11 grandchildren, Rebecca A. McGinnis, Tracy L. Hart, Scott T. Cowlin, Nicole T. Casey, Denise M. Rivers, Martin D. and Amanda J. Lichtel, and Matthew M., Katie H., Christopher J. and Joel P. Cyr, and six great-grandchildren, Haley E., Lauren A. and Brooke E. Cowlin, Lindsey A. McGinnis, Zachary C. Hart and Owen N. Rivers.
She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
