Aldo Teofil Gaspardi, 55, of 22 Radcliffe Ave. died Sunday at home after a short illness.
Born in Great Barrington on May 31, 1951, son of Aldo J. and Agnes Kernozek Gaspardi, he was a 1970 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1992 graduate of Berkshire Community College, where he received a certificate as a mental health and mental retardation technician.
He served in the Coast Guard.
For the past year, Mr. Gaspardi was employed by Barton's Crossing as a cook and counselor. Before that, he worked for other mental health and human services agencies for many years.
He was a communicant of All Souls' Church, where he was a former altar server, and a member of the Piston Poppers of Pittsfield.
He was an artist and carpenter and enjoyed fixing cars, cooking and fishing.
Besides his parents, with whom he resided, he leaves three sons, Anthony J. Gaspardi of Las Vegas, Jason R. Gaspardi of Pittsfield, and Bryan J. Gaspardi of Dalton; a daughter, Milissa D. Jones of Montgomery, Ala., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Aldo T. Gaspardi, who died Sunday, July 23, 2006, will be celebrated Saturday at 10 at All Souls' Church by the Rev. James Cunningham, CSS. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements. Aldo, a "Good Dad," will be sadly missed by his four children.
He also leaves his beloved grandsons, Travis and Tyler Jones, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
