Angelo J. Magri Sr.

Angelo J. Magri Sr., 57, of 335 Wahconah St., died Saturday at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Born in Pittsfield on April 23, 1949, son of Joseph R. and Catherine Hynes Magri, he attended local schools and was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He was employed by Local 473 in the construction field as a laborer. Previously, he was a self-employed auto mechanic for many years and worked for NATGUN, traveling around the country building pre-cast water tanks.
He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing, building and restoring cars, fishing, cooking and music.
He was also a fan of the New York Yankees and was a member of the Onota Fishing Club.
He leaves two sons, Angelo J. Magri Jr., of Cheshire and Anthony J. Magri of Gardner; two sisters, Donna Magri of Vermont and Cathy Joe Magri of Hadley; and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service and celebration of life for Angelo J. Magri, who died Saturday, July 29, 2006, will be held at a later date, at a time to be announced. Interment will be private.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He also leaves his grandson, Christopher Anthony Magri, and his longtime friend, whom he considered another son, Jon Griffin.
