Rheta S. Bonnivier

Rheta S. Bonnivier, 94, of 195 Elberon Ave. died Thursday at Springside of Pittsfield.
She and her husband, the late G. Edward Bonnivier, owned and operated the former Bonny Ski and Sport Shop until their retirement in 1978.
Born in Skaneateles, N.Y., on Aug. 2, 1912, daughter of Norman J. and Edna Wright Shepard, she graduated from Skaneateles High School in 1930 and from the University of Rochester in 1934.
Mrs. Bonnivier worked in the Rochester area until 1940, when she moved to the Berkshires.
She attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of Berkshire Hills Country Club and Mount Greylock Ski Club.
She enjoyed skiing, golfing, traveling and walking the beach while wintering in Florida.
She and her husband were married for 48 years. He died in January 1988.
She leaves two sons, Edward S. Bonnivier of Coal City, Ill., and Chris O. Bonnivier Sr. of Hilliard, Ohio; a brother, Burleigh W. Shepard of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Rheta S. Bonnivier, 94, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, one day after her 94th birthday. In honoring her wishes, there will be no funeral service or calling hours.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Elder Services or the Lee Regional VNA in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
