Leone Scoco

Leone Scoco, 86, of 45 Terrace Ave. died Saturday at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 25, 1919, son of Lorenzo and Maria Salvestro Scoco, he was educated in local schools.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was honorably discharged in 1943.
Mr. Scoco was employed by General Electric Co. for 37 years in the power transformer department as a stock keeper, retiring in 1981.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. He enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing and going to off-track betting parlors.
His wife, the former Mary Pires, whom he married July 14, 1944, at Mount Carmel Church, died Nov. 10, 2003.
He leaves a daughter, Mary Williams of Pittsfield; a brother, Patrick Scoco of Pittsfield; a sister, Catherine DiPaoli of Dalton; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Leone Scoco, 86, who died Aug. 5, 2006, will be tomorrow, Aug. 9, at 8:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood, Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He also leaves his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Cliff and Shawn Hover, Tracy Brasie, Kerry Williams, Amanda, Brittany and Crystal Hover, Kaylee and Cody Hover, Kamryn Dunton, Hunter Brasie, Joseph Mucinski and Christina Gargon.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Samuel, Anthony, Joseph and John Scoco, and Frank Scago, and by two sisters, Yolanda Jacques and Mary Currier.
