Eugene E. Gillette

Eugene E. Gillette, 86, of 91 Brombach St. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 10, 1920, son of Jules and Harriet Marquis Gilliotte, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific aboard an aircraft carrier.
Mr. Gillette was a firefighter with the Pittsfield Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 1974. He also worked for the former New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. and Brown's Express, and was a truck driver, painter and sheet metal worker before joining the Fire Department.
He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of the Pittsfield and Massachusetts permament firemen's associations, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 448. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His wife, the former Lucille Moshier, whom he married May 1, 1943, at St. Joseph's Church, died May 22, 2000.
He leaves two sons, Garry F. Gillette of Pittsfield and Greg A. Gillette of Lanesborough; a daughter, Nancigene Gillette of Pittsfield, and a sister, Marie Stokes of Sun City Center, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Eugene E. Gillette, who died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, also leaves his cousin, Emil Marquis. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jules Gillette and Arthur Gillette, and by his sister, Harriet Dastoli.
The funeral for Mr. Gillette will be tomorrow, Aug. 19, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Gillette may be made to Berkshire Medical Center Renal Dialysis Unit, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
