Leslie D. Kirchner, 50, of 2566 East 3750 North, Layton, Utah, formerly of Pomeroy Avenue, died Aug. 23 while fishing in Layton.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 19, 1955, son of Nicholas and Jeanne Stanard Kirchner, he attended schools in Lee until moving to Pittsfield, where he graduated from Taconic High School in 1974.
He moved to Layton in 1998.
Mr. Kirchner was employed by Eastover Resort in Lenox as a chef from 1973 to 1978. From 1978 to 1993, he worked at Pittsfield News. He moved to Layton in 1998.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He leaves a son, Erik L. Kirchner of Lee; a daughter, Erin E. Kirchner of Windsor; six brothers, Gary S. Kirchner of Layton, Bruce P. and Earl N. Kirchner, both of Pittsfield, Donald A. Kirchner of Middlefield, Nicholas E. Kirchner of Dalton and Shawn J. Kirchner of Williamstown; and three sisters, Valerie L. Soules of Pittsfield, Darcy J. Kirchner of Plantation, Fla., and Melody J. Effendi of Pittsield. He also leaves his former wife, Valerie Grazewicz Kirchner Bird of Windsor.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Leslie D. Kirchner, who died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in South Lee.
Friends wishing may make donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation through the funeral home. KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours.
You were a great big brother, which I loved so much, thank you. The times we had together brings a smile to my face, when I think about them. Your picture is on the frig, and the boys take it off on a regular basis to look at, and Ii tell them “that’s your uncle Les ☺️“. Your missed more than you could imagine, my big brother. I’ll see you when I see y you. Miss n love 💝 you. Baby brother
