Dorothy K. O'Neill, 87, of 1000 North St. died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided for 14 months.
Born in Sheffield on Sept. 24, 1918, daughter of Frank F. and Agnes Klahn Ketchen, she was a 1936 graduate of the former Searles High School.
She lived in Great Barrington for most of her life and in Pittsfield for the past three years.
Mrs. O'Neill was employed as office manager at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, retiring in 1973 after 35 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church.
Her husband, William A. O'Neill Sr., died Dec. 2, 1972. They were married Nov. 20, 1937, in Boston.
She leaves a son, William A. O'Neill Jr. of Winchester, W.Va.; a daughter, Barbara Aillon of Pittsfield; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Dorothy K. O'Neill died in Pittsfield on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006. The funeral will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 1, at 10 at St. Teresa's Church by the Rev. Mark Mengel, pastor.
Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Berkshire Medical Center Coronary Care Unit, care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
