Janet L. Acorn, 78, of 140 Melbourne Road died yesterday morning at home.
Born in Springfield on Feb. 8, 1923, daughter of Paul and Catherine MacLaren Langlois, she was a graduate of Classical High School.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1979 and was a secretary at DeSisto School in Stockbridge. Before that, she was employed as a librarian at West Vaco in Springfield.
Mrs. Acorn was a volunteer at the Corner House, the former Rockwell museum, in Stockbridge.
Her husband, Albert H. Acorn III, whom she married in 1946, died Feb. 18, 1979.
She leaves a son, David P. Acorn of Bedford Hills, N.Y.; a daughter, Catherine A. Righi of Pittsfield, and three grandchildren.
A private funeral will be at the convenience of the family in Springfield, Mass. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pediatric Development Center in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
