Teresa Simoneau

Teresa Simoneau, 79, of 115 Memorial Drive died late Sunday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in Amherst, on Feb. 3, 1927, daughter of Andrew and Anna Pleppo, she graduated from Amherst High School in 1945.

She moved to Pittsfield in 1959.

She last worked at the former J.J. Newberry store for many years. Earlier, she had worked at the former Potsaid's Market for several years.

Mrs. Simoneau was a communicant of St. Charles' Church, Pittsfield, and was a member of the Friends of Wild Acres.

She enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and dancing.

Her husband, Bernard J. Simoneau, Sr., whom she married on June 30, 1953, died on Dec. 16, 2005.

She leaves a son, Bernard J. Simoneau Jr. of Adams; a daughter, Ann McCarthy of Lanesboro; a brother, William Pleppo of Hadley; a sister, Patricia West of Bristol, Conn.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Teresa Simoneau, who died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 9:30 a.m. in AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, with the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams, officiating.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Josh Snyder Memorial Ice Fishing Derby through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, MA 01220.

She leaves a daughter-in-law, Gena Simoneau; a son-in-law, Frank McCarthy; three grandchildren, Colin and Devon McCarthy and Jamie Ciempa; a great-granddaughter, Erin Lee Ciempa; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas and Stephen Pleppo.
